- Chosen by Voters Child support is for the day to day normal expenses incurred in raising a child to adulthood. Typically food, shelter, education, and clothing.While it can be expected that a child will get sick, it is not a day to day occurance (hopefully) AND it is a medicinal item.. sooooooo……Besides, (personal opinon to follow so stop reading if that bothers you)…..Why are you wasting your time carping about the cost of a bottle of cough syrup ( what, about $5?) instead of talking to the kid about how he/she is doing and such.
